Reena Heenan

Reena’s entire life has been devoted to words. She is a life-long advocate/mentor for the arts and artists of all ages and is especially devoted to Writing and the Writer. She is a playwright known most notably for her long-running, Off-Broadway musical, Kerouac. She owned and operated Village Performers Theatre in the East Village for five years where she produced over 40 plays. She has written four books: Malevolent Being, a collection of poems and musings; Grandma’s Grammar, a book on the rules of English for children; Gehenna, a novel about New York City night life in the late 50s and 60s; and Stories To Read On A Plane, a book of perfect short stories to read while traveling. She is also Director of Travelling Poets Society, which runs a series of readings by new and established poets. She resides in New York City.
